Yes, you can now save characters and backgrounds on Nureta and use them again. The new Library keeps the characters and backgrounds that you make with AI, so you can cast a character you like in your next video without a photo. Describe a person or a place, get 2 AI images for 1 credit, and keep the one you like. You can keep up to 200 characters and 200 backgrounds, and only you can see them. Photos of people that you upload are never saved. This guide explains how to make, save and reuse them, and the rules that apply.

How to make a character or a background
Sign in and open the Library, then choose New character or New background. For a character, choose woman or man, an age (20s, 30s, 40s or 50+) and a style: realistic, anime, 3D, illustration or your own. Then add the face, hair, body and clothes that you want, if you like. For a background, choose a place and the time of day, and add a mood if you like. Surprise me fills in a random description when you want a place to start.
Generate costs 1 credit and draws 2 images, usually in under a minute. We check your description before we draw. If we can't draw it, your credit comes back. You can close the page while the images are drawn: they wait for you in Recent.
Pick an image to save it
When the 2 images are ready, pick the one you like. Save keeps it in your Library. Make a video keeps it and starts a new video with it. The image that you did not pick is not saved. Unsaved images are deleted after 14 days, and until then you can still save them from Recent.
Each saved item gets a name, and you can rename it at any time. Use a made-up name, not a real person's full name. Your Library holds up to 200 characters and 200 backgrounds. Saved characters and backgrounds are kept for 1 year after you save them, then deleted. When a list is full, delete an item to save a new one. When you delete an item, the videos you already made stay as they are, but drafts and re-renders that use it stop working.
Use a saved character in any video
On Create, each person in your story has a slot. Choose From my characters to cast a saved character, or Generate with AI to make a new one there. You can cast the same saved character in every video that you make, so you don't need a photo to bring back a character you like. A saved character also sets woman or man for that person.
A saved background sets the place for the whole video. Library items can't be used as first or last frames yet. For tips on keeping a character the same from scene to scene, read the same face in every scene.
Save a background photo that you upload
You can also upload a photo of a place in the Background slot on Create. It is used for that video only, unless you save it. To save it, choose Save to my backgrounds and tick the box to confirm that you have the right to use the photo. We check the photo for minors before we save it, which can take a minute or two. A photo that may show someone under 18 is not saved.
The photo can be up to 15 MB, as a JPG, PNG or WebP file. You can save up to 20 uploaded backgrounds a day. AI images that you save do not count toward this limit.
Why photos of people are never saved
To protect real people, the Library never keeps a photo of a person that you upload. Such a photo is used once, for one video, and then it is not kept in your Library. Every character in your Library is drawn by our AI. This is why the Library makes AI characters easy to reuse: you can keep a character you like without a photo of anyone.
The content policy applies to everything you make and save. Nureta is for adults 18 and older. Characters must be original adults: not minors, not real or famous people, and not characters from an existing anime, game or film.
