When should you pick 1080p, 720p or 480p?
Pick 1080p when you need a Full HD file: 1920 by 1080 pixels in 16:9 (1080 by 1920 in vertical 9:16). It suits a big screen or a TV, a widescreen 16:9 or 21:9 video, a place that asks for 1080p, or the final version of a story you have already tested.
Pick 720p for a middle ground: it costs two thirds of 1080p and is ready sooner. Pick 480p, the default, to try an idea, to test a new story or prompt, or to make a long video at the lowest price. A common pattern is to test a story at 480p, then make the version you want to keep at 1080p.
What does a 1080p video cost?
The price is linear in seconds, so a longer 1080p video costs proportionally more. At 6 credits per second, a 5-second 1080p clip is 30 credits, a 15-second clip is 90 credits, a 1-minute video is 360 credits and a 3-minute video is 1,080 credits. The same 3 minutes cost 360 credits at 480p and 720 credits at 720p.
Paying per video in USDC, 5 seconds at 1080p cost $3.87, three times the 480p price. There is no subscription and nothing renews. If a video fails for any reason, its full cost comes back to your balance automatically. Fix a part on a 1080p video costs 6 credits per second for the seconds you remake. The free first video is 480p; 720p and 1080p are for paid videos.
Aspect ratios and length at 1080p
1080p works with all six aspect ratios: 9:16 (vertical, the default), 16:9 (widescreen), 1:1 (square), 4:3, 3:4 and 21:9 (cinematic). Vertical 9:16 suits a phone; 16:9 and 21:9 suit a TV or a monitor. The resolution and the ratio are two separate choices, so you can combine any of them.
Length works the same way at every resolution. A single clip is 5, 10 or 15 seconds, and a longer video joins several scenes into one movie of up to about 3 minutes, with the same characters in every scene.
How long does a 1080p video take?
A 1080p video takes a few extra minutes compared with the same video at 720p. Short clips usually take a few minutes and long stitched videos take longer; the create page shows an estimate while it works. You can leave the page: the video keeps going and appears in your account when it is ready.
